"Honeymoon Avenue" è il primo brano dell'album in studio di debutto di Ariana Grande, Yours Truly.

Panoramica

"Honeymoon Avenue" è stata scritta inizialmente nel 2011. Ariana si è esibita con questa canzone il 28 dicembre 2011 ad Irving Plaza. È stata una delle prime canzoni che ha registrato.^[1] La versione originale è molto diversa da quella che appare nell'album Yours Truly. Ariana ha affermato in un'intervista che quando la canzone è stata originariamente registrata, sembrava molto brillante e felice ma non catturava la parte emozionale del significato della canzone. Nella prima metà del 2013, gli amici e produttori di Ariana The Rascals hanno riarrangiato la canzone per dare più spazio al significato. Sono stati aggiunti violini e violoncelli, rallentato il tempo e cambiata una parte dell'arrangiamento. Ariana ha detto che si sente come se "finalmente cattura il vero significato della canzone".^[2]

La versione originale è in collaborazione con The Dap Kings.
Questa è la traccia in studio più lunga che Ariana abbia mai registrato.
Ariana ha detto su Twitter che quando ha registrato questa canzone e "Tattooed Heart" era ammalata di un'infezione al cranio e ai polmoni. Cantava per dieci minuti e poi si riposava per venti minuti.
È una delle uniche tre canzoni che non sono state eliminate dall'album originale (le altre due sono "Tattooed Heart" e "Daydreamin'").
La prima voce che si sente nella traccia è di Leon Thomas III. Leon ed Ariana hanno recitato insieme in Victorious, show di Nickelodeon.
Il 6 novembre 2015, Ariana ha annunciato sul suo account Snapchat "moonlightbae" che avrebbe pubblicato la versione originale di "Honeymoon Avenue" insieme a "Voodoo Love".
Il 2 agosto 2016, Ariana ha ufficialmente pubblicato le due canzoni sul suo account SoundCloud.
