"The Light Is Coming" è la terza traccia del quarto album in studio di Ariana Grande, Sweetener. La canzone vede la collaborazione della rapper Nicki Minaj.[3] La canzone è stata pubblicata il 20 giugno 2018, insieme al preordine dell'album.[1]

Storia

Ariana ha confermato la canzone al The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon il 1° maggio 2018.[4]

Il 7 maggio 2018, Ariana ha confermato via Twitter che "The Light Is Coming" sarebbe stata la prossima canzone ad essere rilasciata dall'album.[5] Una settimana dopo, Ariana ha anticipato alcune frasi del testo su Twitter. Il 20 maggio 2018, Ariana ha aperto il Billboard Music Awards 2018 con "No Tears Left To Cry". Alla fine dell'esbizione è stato mostrato "The Light Is Coming" sullo schermo. Il 27 maggio 2018, Ariana ha condiviso uno parte della canzone sui suoi account Instagram e Twitter, e ha confermato che la canzone è un featuring con Nicki Minaj.[3] Il 29 maggio 2018, Ariana ha postato un video di lei che riascolta la canzone.[6]
