"Ain't About What You Got" is an unreleased song by Ariana Grande that was intended for her sophomore album, My Everything. The song was eventually pitched to the cast of the show STAR.

Background

A small portion of the song was able to "leak" as the show "STAR" heavily used Ariana’s backup vocals during their performance, which had allowed for users to make resurrection edits.

The edits were deleted from YouTube, but there was still people who managed to re-upload them. Snippets of Grande's actual demo started leaking during September 2021, and soon the full demo leaked that same month on September 24, 2021.

On April 10, 2023, the original high quality WAV file leaked. The demo was leaked on June 17, 2023, with the unmixed vocal stems and instrumental.

On April 27, 2024 the full session was leaked.

Trivia

• Ariana reused some of her vocals from her original demo of "Ain't About What You Got" from her 2014 single, "Problem".
  • The song is also what inspired her to make Problem in the first place.
• When users made their own edits they only had the pre-chorus and chorus as that was all that was left of Grande's vocals in the song.
