Annie is a musical based upon the popular Harold Gray comic strip Little Orphan Annie, with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and the book by Thomas Meehan. Ariana Grande's first role in a play was when she was eight years old in this musical in a small family theater in South Florida.[1] She had the role of Annie, but wanted to play the role of Miss Hanigan.[2]
Ariana got roles in community theater plays like The Wizard of Oz and Beauty and the Beast until she turned 13 and then started to take her career seriously.[3]
