The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly referred to as Coachella or the Coachella Festival) is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, located in the Inland Empire's Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert.

Ariana Grande was a special guest and did a surprise performance at the festival in 2018 and headlined in April 2019.[1]

Grande performed at Coachella for the first time when Kygo invited her for a surprise appearance at Coachella on April 20, 2018. In this performance, Grande performed her comeback single "No Tears Left To Cry" for the first time ever.

  1. "Sexual Healing" (shortened version)
  2. "No Tears Left To Cry" (live debut)

In January 2019, it was announced that Grande would headline the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, becoming the youngest artist to headline the event, and the fourth female artist.[2] It was a Sweetener World Tour show rearranged to include NSYNC, Nicki Minaj, Diddy and Mase. However, Grande didn't include the scheduled guests for her April 21 show due to technical difficulties. Except Justin Bieber who managed to perform with Grande minutes before her set started. His performance with Grande was unplanned.

Fans renamed her appearance "Arichella" like it was done the year prior when Beyoncé headlined the 2018 edition of the festival with "Beychella".
