"Dangerous Woman" is the title track and lead single of Ariana Grande's third album, Dangerous Woman. The song debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. This makes Ariana the first artist in the chart's 57-year history to debut in the top 10 with the lead single from each of her first three albums. "Dangerous Woman" marks Ariana's seventh Billboard Hot 100 top 10 (and fifth to debut in the top 10).^[1] The song will have two music videos, the first of which was released on March 31, 2016.

Background

On January 17, 2016, Ariana tweeted possible new lyrics, "don't need permission, made my decision, to test my limits."^[2] On March 1, 2016, Ariana released the first snippet of "Dangerous Woman" onto her website of the same name. It was an a cappella clip.^[3]^[4] She later shared an instrumental snippet of the song to her snapchat and instagram with the caption reading "6 Days till Dangerous Woman".^[5] On March 7, 2016, Ariana shared on her snapchat a snippet of the song with the caption '3'.^[6] On March 9, 2016, a preview of Ariana's song, Dangerous Woman, was featured in the Victoria's Secret Swim Special. It played for about a minute.

Ariana debuted the song on Saturday Night Live on March 12, 2016. She released a recorded a cappella version of the full on March 21, 2016.^[7] Ariana performed this song at the MTV Movie Awards with Jason Robert Brown on April 10, 2016. Her brother, Frankie, made a reaction video while watching her performance.^[8] On April 25, 2016, Ariana also performed this song on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Music video

The music video was directed by The Young Astronauts and produced by Peter Williams and Jona Ward. Ariana teased the video by posting gifs and short clips. It was released on March 31, 2016 as Visual 1. Ariana confirmed that she will also be releasing another music video.^[9]
