"Do You Love Me" is an unreleased song by Ariana Grande that was intended to be the second single for her debut album, Yours Truly (Originally Titled "Daydreamin"). The song features LMFAO's Sky Blu & The Dap Kings.

Background

During multiple interviews in 2012, Ariana had stated that she was going to release two singles before the album's release, with "Do You Love Me" being the second single to be released.^[1]

Grande first put out a video on her YouTube channel with producer Matt Squire called “Studio Memories: finishing Do You Love Me” on June 8, 2012.^[2]

Three months later on September 1, 2012, Grande released a snippet of the song and "Daydreamin'" in celebration of 3 million followers on Twitter.^[3]

The early demo of the song was first leaked on December 3, 2012. Grande said that it was just a rough draft, and that it didn't have the horns and less rapping like the final version of the song. The final leaked almost ten years later on May 17, 2023, long after the album's making. It features horns, a slightly different instrumental, and a new verse from Ariana and Sky Blu that replaces the rap in the first pre-chorus along with a slightly different outro.

Trivia

An early version of the song was leaked on December 3, 2012. Grande said that it was only a rough draft, and that it wasn’t the final. The album version has horns and Grande is rapping less throughout the song.
On August 3, 2012, Grande said this song was her favorite on her album out of the songs everybody knew.^[4]
In a livechat on November 12, 2012, Grande said that "Do You Love Me" was never released because "things just got complicated". Then she said that she hopes "Do You Love Me" would still be on the album followed by "it absolutely will be".^[5]
The song samples The Contours' single, "Do You Love Me" from their only album, Do You Love Me (Now That I Can Dance).^[6]
