Dove Cameron is an American singer and actress best known for playing a dual role in Disney's "Liv and Maddie" along with her lead role in the Descendants franchise and her breakthrough single, "Boyfriend." She starred alongside Ariana Grande in Hairspray Live!.

Dove and Ariana are very good friends. Dove posted videos of her singing Grande's "Side To Side". On Dove's birthday, Ariana tweeted her saying she loves her and wished her a happy birthday. On July 4, 2018, Cameron posted a video with her now ex-boyfriend, Thomas Doherty, listening to Grande's "The Light Is Coming".[1]
Cameron revealed that she audutioned in Jon M. Chu's upcoming movie musical ''Wicked'' for role Glinda but she is happy and excited that Ariana got it.[2] Cameron has also stated Grande is her celebrity mentor and one of her biggest inspirations.
