"Main Thing" (stylized in all lowercase; originally titled "Mane Thang" or "Different") is the nineteenth and last bonus track from the deluxe edition of Ariana Grande's sixth studio album, Positions. It was released on February 19, 2021 through Republic Records.
Background[]
Grande confirmed "main thing" as the nineteenth track of Positions deluxe edition on February 11, 2021, during the countdown to the premiere of the "34+35" remix music video.[1] On February 17, 2021, Grande posted a snippet of the song on her social medias.[2]
Demo one leaked on December 10, 2023, alongside "pick chords", a snippet of "lalala", a snippet of "Till It's Over", and a snippet of "Brandy Melville. Demo two leaked one month later on January 22, 2024.
Both of the demos have a different instrumental, slightly different vocals, it only consists of one verse, the pre-chorus and the chorus. The full sessions was soon leaked on January 22, 2024, alongside many other unreleased song sessions.

- This song is about how Ariana loves her partner and how her partner cares about her. She tells her partner how much she adores him and how he’s different from all the others.
- Ariana said this track would have replaced "my hair" on the standard album. [3]
- Ariana wrote this song herself about Dalton.
- The lyric, "Been a minute since I tasted something so sweet" could be a reference to her fourth studio album Sweetener. However, it's more likely a reference to Love Language.
