"Indica" (stylized in all lowercase) is an unreleased song by Ariana Grande that was intended for her fifth studio album, Thank U, Next.

Background

Grande first teased the song on her Instagram story by posting a video of her in the studio with her mother Joan Grande. Grande's mother Joan, was asking Ariana what the word Indica meant. Ariana later posted a blacked out early track list of the Thank U, Next album that most likely included "Confused" and "Indica" as she tagged Kaydence.

Later, an image was shared by a seller showing a batch of unreleased songs that were unknown at the time. The list included "Confused" and "Could Be Us". Another seller also claimed to have "Indica", but said that it was just a rough vocal mix with mostly mumbles and harmonies, this had lead many to think that Grande never finished the song.

• On October 2, 2018, Ariana posted a video of her mother, Joan Grande, in the studio asking her what the word "indica" meant.
  • In that same video, Grande also tagged Tayla Parx, Victoria Monét, and Kaydence. They most likely worked with her making the song. Joan also asks in the video that Grande posted on her Instagram story if she's reading the word "indica" correctly, suggesting that she was reading an early version of the track list for Thank U, Next. Grande has since deleted the posts but pictures of them can still be found online.
