Background
Ariana previewed a snippet of the song on August 4, 2014 to start the 20 day countdown to My Everything. On August 20, Ariana released this song to MTV along with "Be My Baby," "Just a Little Bit of Your Heart," and "Why Try."[2]
Live performances
Ariana and The Weeknd performed this song for the first time on the season 40 premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 27, 2014.
Music video
On October 1, 2014 Ariana and her manager, Scooter Braun, both confirmed that they were working on the music video. It is directed by Hannah David Lux who also directed the music video for "Bang Bang." The lyric video premiered on October 17, 2014 and the music video premiered on November 3, 2014. Big Sean was on the set.
