Monét and Grande teased the song through Instagram stories on March 27, 2019.[4] They both tweeted that the song would be released on April 1, 2019 because Grande's "7 Rings" was "about to be number one for eight weeks".[5][6][7][8]

The song debuted at number 70 on the US Billboard Hot 100, on the week ending April 13, 2019.[9] This is Victoria Monét's first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart as a credited performer.[10]
