"Pink Champagne" is the third song announced by Ariana Grande intended for her debut album, Yours Truly. It was first announced by her through a contest on her Twitter.
However, when Yours Truly was released, it was revealed that "Pink Champagne" was not on the album. Instead, Grande released the song when she reached 10 million followers on Twitter as a thank-you gift for her fans, commonly known as "Arianators". The song was not released as a single from any of her albums nor was it released as a digital download.
Release
On October 1st, 2013, Grande reached 10 million followers on Twitter. Because of that, she released the song in a YouTube video. In the video, she does a 1-minute long speech before she plays the song. She mentions how grateful she is for all of the love and support she has gotten from her fans. She says her fans are her family and she loves them. She describes the song as a "fetus" song because she recorded it when she was 17. She knows that her fans were disappointed when it didn't make it to the first album. Although, she would never change anything about her first album, she decided to release the song for free as a thank-you gift for her fans. The video can be viewed here.
Music video
On April 9, 2014 a channel named: "InterscopeVEVOmusic (not related to Interscope Records)" released a fan-made music video of "Pink Champagne". The video features Grande behind-the-scenes of her photoshoot with Teen Vogue magazine and short clips of a city. It also features pink champagne. This video became unavailable as "InterscopeVEVOmusic" was terminated on YouTube.
On May 7, 2014 a channel named "ArianaVEVOgroup (not related to VEVO)" re-uploaded the fan-made music video of "Pink Champagne" originally available on "InterscopeVEVOmusic".
On March 29, 2015 another fan-made video of Pink Champagne was uploaded by an account named "VEVOArianaGrande" that appears to be a re-edit of the previous one with extra scenes such as Ariana's performance of Pink Champagne live during her Honeymoon Tour.
Live performances
In February 2012, Ariana performed this song in her concert at The Roxy,[1] at the House of Blues in San Diego,[2] and in Downtown Disney.[3] She then performed it at the Big Fresno Fair on October 13, 2012.[4]
She is currently performing it during her Honeymoon Tour on stage.
