"Remember" (styled as reMeMber) is a scrapped song by Ariana Grande intended for her fifth studio album Thank U, Next.[1]
Background
The song was intended to be on Grande's fifth album Thank U, Next, but it was replaced by "Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored".[2] Grande decided not to release it as she felt it was too personal.[3] The title of the song was teased on a departures board from Grande's music video for "Breathin", single from her 2018 album Sweetener, among other tracks from Thank U, Next, as the video was filmed before she decide to scrap the song.
It is thought to be about Grande's ex-boyfriend Mac Miller who died on September 7, 2018 from an accidental drug overdose.[4]
A snippet of the song leaked in December of 2020.
