"Sandman" is an unreleased song by Ariana Grande that was intended for her debut album, Yours Truly.

The outtake stems from a now-privated YouTube live stream Grande hosted on January 23, 2013, in which she accidentally played a very small snippet of the song. When asked about the song by fans, she said that she couldn't play it as it contained a sample that her team hadn't cleared yet.[1] (Unreleased Icon listen)

You can still access the stream via the Wayback Machine.

  • This song samples "Mr. Sandman" by The Chordettes. She later interpolated the same song years later for "R.E.M".
  • The snippet is around a second long and appears after she plays the original version of "Honeymoon Avenue" for her viewers. (38:54)
  • In the same livestream, she talks about a recording both a ballad and a duet with Nick Jonas, and how her team didn't want her to release "Boyfriend Material".
