On October 11, 2021, Kelly announced that she had a song with her Voice co-star, Ariana Grande. Along with that announcement, she also dropped snippets of the songs to all her socials.[4] Ariana had also posted about this several times on her stories as well. A live performance of the song will air for the TV special "Kelly Clarkson Presents: When Christmas Comes Around" on December 1st on NBC.[5]
Lyric's Meaning[]
"Santa Can't You Hear Me" is a song about a person's Christmas wish that has not yet been fulfilled. The lyrics suggest that the person does not need the typical Christmas symbols such as snow, sleigh rides, or presents under the tree, but rather something else that they have not received. The song repeatedly asks Santa if he can hear the person's plea for what they truly want for Christmas. Despite the festive season, the person is feeling blue because their wish has not come true.
