"Santa Tell Me" is a Christmas single from a reissue of Ariana Grande's first Christmas EP, Christmas Kisses. It was released through Republic Records on November 24, 2014.
The single reached its new peak at #5 on the Billboard Global 200 and enters the Top 10 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart at #7 in December 2020.
Background and release
Grande first confirmed this song in a live stream she did on October 28, 2014.[1] She said at first she didn't want to do another Christmas song but then she changed her mind. Grande confirmed the title of the song and the release date to be November 24, 2014.[2] The audio version of the song was uploaded on November 23, 2014, and the lyric video on November 25, 2014, on her official Vevo YouTube channel.
There is also an unreleased explicit version on YouTube which was recorded at the same time. The only difference between the original and the unreleased version is in the lyrics, with the lines "Oh, I wanna have him beside me, like ohh-woo-hooo / On the 25th, by that fireplace, ohh-woo-hooo" replacing "Oh I wanna let him unwrap me, like ohh-woo-hoo / Get on top of him, by that fireplace, ohh-woo-hooo".[3]
