Background and release
Ariana first confirmed this song in a livestream she did on October 28, 2014.[1] She said at first she didn't want to do another Christmas song but then she changed her mind. On November 23, 2014, Ariana confirmed the title of the song and the release date to be November 23, 2014. The song was released [as an audio file on Ariana's Vevo channel] on November 24, 2014 and the lyric video was released on the Vevo on November 25, 2014.[2] The official audio video was uploaded to YouTube on November 23, 2014 to the official ArianaGrandeVevo YouTube channel. Live performances
On December 5, 2014 a special will air called A Very Grammy Christmas where Ariana will perform "Santa Tell Me" (the show was filmed on November 16).[3]
