Tattoos

Ariana Grande currently has 26 known tattoos. She also had 2 tattoos that have been covered up and 2 tattoos that cannot be made out. She got her first inking in 2012 when she was 18.

Tattooed Heart

This is Ariana's first tattoo, which she got in 2012 at the age of 18. It is a tattoo on the second toe of her right foot, and shows the bold outlining of a heart. Ariana says she got this tattoo while working on her debut album Yours Truly, and is also inspired by the song “Tattooed Heart” (which was one of her favourite songs from the album).

Mille Tendresse

Ariana's second tattoo was writing on the back of her neck. It was done on March 14, 2014, and reads the words ‘Mille Tendresse’. This is a line from the movie Breakfast At Tiffany’s, which is one of Ariana’s favourite movies and stars her idol, Audrey Hepburn.

Bellissima

’Bellissima’ is something that Frank Grande, Ariana’s grandpa, used to call her. It is tattooed on her left side near her chest. Ariana also got this tattoo on the same day some of her friends got their first, which she claims was a real “bonding experience”. It means "really beautiful"\"a really beautiful girl" in Italian.

Crescent Moon

Ariana announced that she had gotten a fourth tattoo on April 14, 2015. The tattoo is the outline of a crescent moon below her left ear. Her backup dancer and close friend Brian also got the same tattoo. It refers to the song “Moonlight”, off her third album Dangerous Woman. It could also be a reference to her Snapchat account since her current name is ’moonlight bae’.

Honeymoon

On April 16, 2015, (at Ariana's meet and greet in Vancouver, Canada during The Honeymoon Tour) it was shown that Ariana had gotten two new small tattoos on her (right) fingers. It is a reference to her Honeymoon Tour and one of her personal favourite songs she’s ever recorded, “Honeymoon Avenue”. She said the song means so much to her because it’s a personal song and the events that occur in the song have happened to her in real life in a Q&A with Billboard in 2013.

אלד

The other tattoo (that she probably got at the same time as the honeymoon one) is a small Hebrew phrase on the side of her right ring finger. It is the tenth name in the 72 names of God which is spelled with the Hebrew letters aleph, lamed, and daled. The name "protects from the evil eye and bad dreams, and helps the rebirthing process." This tattoo is a reference to Ariana's faith which is Kabbalah.

Ariana's brother Frankie Grande also got a similar tattoo.

Second Tattooed Heart

At Ariana's show in Paris during The Honeymoon Tour on May 14, 2015, it was shown that Ariana had gotten another tattoo. It is a small outline of a heart (like her first tattoo) on her right ring finger.

Hi

Ariana and Ricky Alvarez showed their new tattoos on Ariana's snapchat story (moonlightbae) June 13, 2015, They both joked about it and you couldn't see the tattoo itself. On November 22, 2015, at the AMAs you could see she had a tattoo on her toe on her left foot.

Babydoll

On January 14, 2016, Ariana posted a picture on Snapchat which showed she had gotten a tattoo on the inside of her finger which says "BABYDOLL" in capital letters. This is said to be a nickname her Nonna uses for her.

Female/Venus Symbol

Ariana posted multiple pictures on her Instagram and Snapchat story on August 25, 2016, confirming she had gotten more tattoos, one of them being a small black outline of the female gender symbol on her left middle finger. She got this tattoo with her then boyfriend, Mac Miller.

A

On the same night as her female symbol tattoo, August 25, 2016, Ariana also got a tattoo of the letter A. Ariana explained on her Instagram and Snapchat that it was in reference to the first initial of longtime best friend, Alexa Luria, even though a lot of people thought she did it for her own name.

Bee

On May 22, 2017, Ariana's Dangerous Woman Tour concert in Manchester was attacked by a suicide bomber. Ariana flew back to America a few days later. The One Love Manchester benefit concert took place two weeks later to raise money for the victims who died and were injured in the attack. Ariana and her crew allegedly all got tattoos of bees as a tribute. Ariana also posted a bee emoji on Instagram when she found out she was made an honorary citizen of Manchester.

It was confirmed in TIME magazine on May 17, 2018. Ariana finally posted a photo showing the tattoo two days after the one-year anniversary of the bombing.

Lumos

On May 21, 2018, Ariana posted on her Instagram story, a selfie showing her new hand tattoo "Lumos".

Lumos is a charm and a light-creation spell from Harry Potter.^[src]

Ariana also has a cloud tattoo on her finger, which she got in May 2018 as a matching tattoo with her now ex-fiancé, Pete Davidson.

Court

On June 7, 2018, Ariana posted a photo on her Instagram story showing the tattoo. It's short for her friend, Courtney Chipolone, and is located on her knee.

H2GKMO

On June 18, 2018, Ariana posted a video on her Instagram story showing a new tattoo, "H2GKMO", an abbreviation of "honest to god knock me out". It's a matching tattoo with her friends, as well as her now ex-fiancé, Pete Davidson, and is located on the side of her right hand.

Lightning Bolt

On June 22, 2018, Ariana posted a photo on her Instagram story showing a tattoo of a lightning bolt behind her right ear. The lightning bolt is most likely a reference to Harry Potter one of Ariana's favorite movies.

Always

On June 22, 2018, Pete posted a photo of Ariana on Instagram, showing a tattoo on her rib cage, "always". The tattoo is written in Pete's handwriting.

Unknown

In the photo showing the "always" tattoo, another tattoo can be seen on her upper thigh, although it can't be made out.

Reborn (Covered)

On June 26, 2018, Ariana posted a photo on her Instagram story showing a new tattoo, "reborn". It's a matching tattoo with her now ex-fiancé, Pete Davidson, and is located on the side of her left hand. Ariana had this tattoo covered following her split from Pete.

On June 26, 2018, in the photo showing the "reborn" tattoo, another tattoo can be seen on her left thumb, "561", which is the area code for Boca Raton, Florida, where she was born and lived throughout her childhood.

In June 2018, Ariana got a tattoo on her ring finger, "pete" written in cursive, after her now ex-fiancé, Pete Davidson. Ariana had this tattoo covered following her split from Pete.

In June 2018, Ariana got a new tattoo on her left foot, "8418". It's a tribute to her now ex-fiancé, Pete Davidson's, late father who was a firefighter and died in 9/11, it was his badge number. Pete has the same tattoo on his left arm.

Chihiro

On August 29, 2018, Ariana posted a photo on her Instagram showing a new tattoo of Chihiro, a character from Spirited Away. It's located on her the underside of her right arm. She said "Chihiro's growth into a capable individual is a core factor to the movement of Spirited Away's plot. During her adventure in the Spirit World, she matures from an easily-scared girl with a child-like personality to match her age to a hard-working, responsible and brave young girl who has learned to put her fears. Chihiro sheds her former personality and adapts to her environment to become a courageous, quick-witted and reliable girl."

Olive Branch

On October 30, 2018, Ariana posted a photo on her Instagram story showing a new tattoo of an olive branch on the side of her left hand. It covers her "reborn" tattoo which she got with her now ex-fiancé, Pete Davidson.

In November 2018, Ariana got a new tattoo of a crescent moon and stars on her left foot.

In November 2018, Ariana got a new tattoo on her right index finger, "9 3/4". This is a reference to Harry Potter.

In the music video for "Breathin", released on November 7, 2018, a new tattoo can be seen kn her finger although you cannot tell what it is. It covers her "pete" tattoo which she got as a reference to her now ex-fiance Pete Davidson.
