Background
On May 5, 2019, Ariana posted on Instagram that she'd "been working on a ‘thank u, next’ fragrance" and described it as being "like ‘ari’ if she went to the beach one time 🥥" and said that "it smells divine".
On August 6, 2019, Ariana posted a promo picture of herself holding the bottle for "Thank U, Next" to her Instagram account which announced that the fragrance would be released exclusively at Ulta Beauty in the US On August 18, 2019.
