The Wizard of Oz is a musical version of the L. Frank Baum book and 1939 film starring Judy Garland. Ariana Grande played the role of Dorothy in the Little Palm Family Theatre's production of The Wizard of Oz at Crest Theatre from June 1st to July 26th, 2003. ^[1] ^[2]Joan Grande produced the show which was an adaptation of the original story including the classic songs and some new additions. ^[3] Frankie Grande participated as the dance captain in the production. ^[4] When asked about starring in the Wizard of Oz, Ariana said "It's exciting. I've always wanted to play Dorothy, "The Wizard of Oz has been my favorite movie since I was 4." ^[5]

Trivia

Ariana sung Somewhere Over The Rainbow at Grandpa Grande's funeral, it was one of his all time favorite songs. Joan told Variety “It’s an emotional story: my father passed away two and half years ago, and that was the song she sang for him after he passed.”^[6]
