Total Ariana Live is a 20-minute long TV special aired on MTV on July 2, 2014. The televised event served as the debut of Ariana Grande's single, "Break Free".

MTV's Total Request Live (abbreviated as TRL) debut on September 14, 1998 with host Carson Daly. The show spawned 2,247 episodes. After the special three-hour finale episode, Total Finale Live, aired on November 16, 2008, the show was shut down.
On June 25, 2014, MTV announced it will reprise TRL for one day as a special named Total Ariana Live, with American singer Ariana Grande. During the show, Grande was interviewed by Sway, asked fans questions and more. She also announced her MTV VMAs performance at the beginning of the show through a promotion on Times Square. Later in the show, Grande performed a piano version of "Problem".
