Daydreamin' is the title of the debut album of Ariana Grande. It will be released through Republic Records in 2013. The first single "Put Your Hearts Up" debuted on December 12, 2011. The second single "The Way" was released on 26 March 2013. However Ariana is not sure this single will be on the album. 

Background

According to Grande, who is still working on the album, hopes to have it finished by August or September 2013.

Grande commented on the album saying: "They can expect a lot of honesty. It's like a direct... you know, it's like it used to be pages from my diary, instead of keeping diary, I would write songs about what was happening in my life. So it's really personal. It's a Motown throwback and pop at the same time, so it's '50s and '60s inspiration mixed with today." The album was inspired by artists like Amy Winehouse, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, Fergie, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Madonna and other like these. Grande worked with artists like Sky Blue from LMFAO, 3OH!3, Kool Kojak, and Pebe Sebert on the album. She was also working in the studio with Jonas Brothers singer Nick Jonas. It was stated by Grande in an interview that the second single from her debut album would be released around Valentine's Day of 2013, but never was. On March 13, 2013, Ariana announced on her Twitter account that a new single, The Way, featuring Mac Miller, would be released on March 26, 2013.

Genres

"My album is going to be pop, but it's also old-school inspired and has a little bit of a 1950's feel to it." - Ariana Grande said in an interview with Total Girl Philippines magazine.

On another interview, Ariana says,"My album is throwback Motown. It’s like modern Motown inspired pop and soul." 

Track listing

The album will have 15 tracks. The exact order of the songs is currently unknown, and Ariana has stated that the direction of the album has changed since she began recording material in 2011. In addition, Ariana does not yet know whether some of the songs she has recorded will make the album, such as "The Way" or "Pink Champagne." As such, some of these songs may not appear on the album.

• The album was originally planned for a release in September 2012, but was delayed due to unknown reasons.
• Ariana retweeted once on Twitter "@scooterbraun meeting today. album coming together for August!!!
• She Tweeted "August :)" which means her album will be released in August.
